It develops selection criteria & advertisements which clearly demonstrate Council’s commitment to child safety & an awareness of its social & legislative responsibilities. Council understands that when recruiting staff & volunteers it has ethical as well as legislative obligations.
All people engaged in child-related work, including volunteers, are required to hold a valid Working with Children Check & to provide evidence of this Check.
Council carries out reference checks & police record checks to ensure that it is recruiting the right people.
