Greater Dandenong is looking to appoint an exceptional Team Leader, Arts & Cultural Development.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and management experience in a complex, multi-disciplinary, arts or community focused organisation. You will have a proven track record of successful leadership and a positive “can do” attitude for shaping the future of Arts & Cultural development during a period of change. Committed to innovation, you will be passionate about the community and bringing your team on the future journey within the organisation. You will lead by example, demonstrating and implementing Council’s core character principles of respect, engagement, accountability, creativity and honesty.
As a key position in the Community Services Directorate, reporting into the Manager of Community, Arts, Cultural and Library Services the main functions of this role include:
- Leading and managing the Arts and Cultural development team
- Motivating and inspiring a committed team of people in the delivery of quality Art and Culture services
- Enhancing innovation and creativity within the organisation and the community
- Engaging with the community, government agencies, external organisations
- Developing and reviewing policies and plans
- Overseeing the implementation of the Arts & Cultural Heritage strategy
To be successful in this role you will have the energy and adaptability to juggle, prioritise and reprioritise within a changing environment. Your ability to ensure quality services are provided at all times and your passion for stakeholder engagement will be vital to your success. You will be a strong collaborative leader, bringing the team with you on the journey and working across a number of internal divisions.
