Who can apply?
We embrace diversity so encourage applications from secondary students of all abilities and diverse backgrounds.
We try to support as many Year 9 or Year 10 secondary school students as possible. This can sometimes be difficult because we have limited availability and demand for places can be high so we give preference to students who live in our city.
When you apply, you will be asked to upload a copy of your School’s Work Experience Agreement
We will contact you to advise if your application is successful or not.
You’ll be paid the current minimum payment of $5 per day.
If you’re a senior student who wants to learn about and make a real difference to a community, you should apply for a work placement with us.
We know that providing work placements to senior students benefits everyone. You can apply your knowledge and skills in real situations, and we can help you make a successful leap from study to work. We also enjoy the enthusiasm and fresh ideas you can bring.
To apply, please send your details including the dates you would like to work with us along with your learning goals to
- Work Placements Coordinator, City of Greater Dandenong, PO Box 200, Dandenong 3175 or email email@example.com
Because of the high demand for our placements, we may not be able to satisfy every request but will try to place as many students as possible.
We have loads of volunteering opportunities. Perhaps you would like to gain an insight into Local Government by sharing your time, talents and abilities in a supported and professional environment.
As a volunteer, you’ll join many other like minded people, learn new skills and expand your circle of friends while making a valuable contribution to the local community.
